Abstract

Women participation in work has been playing a tremendous role in the economic activities and it is an important indicator of their personal progression and their status in the society. Women mainly in hill states are very much involved in the socio-economic development due to their enormous role in primary activities. They have contributed in agriculture activities, exploitation natural resources, forestry, livestock, fisheries, sericulture, horticulture and very much participated in cottage industries like weaving, spinning, handlooms, handicrafts and others.
